Isn't it remarkable how the band members adapt from the parade style usual at this event, to the stage style required by the rain? Is the style decided before they leave for the event based on weather forecast, or on arrival upon seeing the actual conditions? And how on earth do their brains and bodies carry the complex different movements required by the wide variety of different styles they present? It would be fascinating to have more videos on their extensive training and practice sessions; but not, of course, if the members consider such videos to be too intrusive. We can also appreciate that unpleasant conditions do not deter them. They are determined to convey enjoyment come rain or shine.
They do stage shows through the year so it's not that unusual for them. The steps they are doing are the same as they would on parade without the marching. They most likely decided based on conditions when they arrived. This video is the morning show and in the afternoon they did a regular parade after the rain stopped.
They actually can adapt from a marching choreography to a field/stage choreography - they did this on the fly at the RP in 2018 when there was a stoppage ahead of them. These kids just switched to their stage Sing Sing Sing performance and gave the crowd at that location a rare treat that nobody else along the parade route got to see. Their performance got interrupted by the whistle when they needed to continue marching down the parade.

There's no way that these young high school students can make those amazingly difficult choreographed and synchronized moves and play their instruments, so I heard that the music is all pre-recorded because that's the easiest part of the whole musical performance....i watch as many videos of the KTSHS BAND daily, and I mean daily, these students are truly amazing....just magical...non stop... I would love to see how the band practices these synchronized moves..... None of the videos ever show anyone out of sync....
Thomas Chin They are amazing! In a parade when they pass a stationary camera you can hear the individual instruments. I haven’t seen any other band that moves so actively while actually playing!
i saw this same video of the 115th from a different angle. they feature my favorite cg mitsuki and ayaka. any angle you look at, KT is always very very good. plus they played one of my favorite KT piece, Tristeza... always bring tears to my eyes whenever they play this. i don't know why. love KT
